Why You Should Avoid “Too Good To Be True”, Push-Button Solutions

In our go, go, go, “just do it”, instant-gratification world, it becomes pretty easy for us to seek out push-button solutions in our businesses. What is a push-button solution you ask? A push-button solution is a prepackaged, super-simple solution to any challenge you might face in your business. “Simply push a button and your problems are solved!”. For instance, you may need more traffic to your website. A push-button solution would tell you that you can get tons of traffic to your website with little or no effort at all on your part.

I openly admit that if there was some button I could push that would instantly generate money I would buy that button. Now some may say that by buying the push-button solution that I be taking the easy way out. I’m not going to disagree, but our objective in our businesses is to function as efficiently as possible. Wouldn’t you consider using a push-button solution to function as efficiently as possible?

Unfortunately push-button solutions are usually nothing more than a myth. I say, “usually” because I have not seen or investigated them all, but the ones I have seen don’t work over the long term. If they were real everyone that purchased them would be rich. From everything I’ve seen the only people who get rich are those were selling the get rich quick, push-button solutions.

The danger seeking out push-button money machines is that many people will simply jump from one shiny object to the next and never make any real progress. In the same amount of time that someone would be “researching” shiny object after shiny object, they could have actually gotten some real work done and seen some real results. You can also waste a lot of money with these types of solutions. Even though one of these products may only be $29 and another one of these products may only be $97 these numbers could really add up over time. This is money that you could’ve spent building your business on a solid foundation.

There are any number of reasons that people seek out products and services that seem too good to be true. The first reason is that someone just starting out simply doesn’t know any better. They really believe you can get 10 million visitors to your site for $30 a month When you don’t know any better it certainly makes sense for your expectations to be unrealistic. The second reason is the person buying product lacks patience or is in a big hurry for some reason. It may be that this person has wasted time and money trying out some previous push-button product.

Remember that building a business on a solid foundation takes time and anything that takes time will also take patience. If you think of your online business journey more as a marathon rather than a sprint it is more likely that you will be successful long-term.
