Voice recognition is nothing new. It has been around for years, decades in fact. When I first tried using voice recognition software many years ago it was little more than a novelty. It was cool to see words appear in Microsoft Word as I spoke them. I thought to myself, “Not bad. not bad at all”.

I was so excited by using Dragon to increase my productivity that I decided to take the show on the road. I bought an Olympus voice recorder model WS – 700 M with the thought of dictating using the recorder and then transcribing the dictations is using Dragon NaturallySpeaking. I made sure the rechargeable battery in the Olympus WS – 700 M was at full charge and headed out for an afternoon walk. During my afternoon walk I decided to simply dictate a few things such as a to do list, an partial outline for a new book I was writing, and a few articles for freelance project.
